The importance of art and craft for students extends far beyond the classroom. These creative endeavours contribute to a well-rounded education by fostering creativity. It enhances cognitive development, and promoting personal growth.
Art & Craft activities equip students with valuable life skills such as patience, perseverance, and time management, while also nurturing their self-esteem and individuality. Furthermore, arts and crafts prepare students for future career opportunities in a transforming world.
As mentioned on the page 12 para 4.6 of NEP 2020-
In all stages, experiential learning will be adopted, including hands-on learning, arts-integrated and sports-integrated education, and story-telling-based pedagogy, among others, as standard pedagogy within each subject, and with explorations of relations among different subjects. To close the gap in achievement of learning outcomes, classroom transactions will shift, towards competency-based learning and education. The assessment tools (including assessment “as”, “of”, and “for” learning) will also be aligned with the learning outcomes, capabilities, and dispositions as specified for each subject of a given class.
PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Chittorgarh recognizing and supporting the role of art and craft in education, ensuring that students can develop into well-rounded, creative, and confident individuals. Apart from this, in 2024, in one batch of 24 students of course “Drawing & Painting artists” under PMKVY 4.0 Skill Hub Initiative has been completed successfully.
